ENMR General Manager Tom Phelps
Leaving for Greener Pastures

Tom PhelpsTom Phelps, a manager who has tirelessly served the membership of the 11,000 member Eastern New Mexico telephone cooperative, ENMR-Plateau Telecommunications, is leaving ENMR-Plateau in mid-October for a position with a wireless company in Grand Island, Nebraska.

Tom has made many positive changes at ENMR-Plateau, always keeping in mind the mantra, "members first." The working environment for employees has improved greatly under his stewardship. His tireless "can do" attitude and superb work ethic set a glowing example for all ENMR-Plateau employees to follow.

Since his arrival at ENMR-Plateau, Tom has utilized ENMR-Plateau's extensive ITV system for the benefit of the membership. In the last two years, member attendance at Annual Meetings has increased more than 50%---thanks to Tom's innovative approach that enabled members to attend meetings at remote locations.

His efforts to reach out to the membership of this community have been highly successful, paying appreciable dividends to the membership, including increased Capital Credit checks, improved service through our cell phone system, and an innovative internet network.

As a cherished member of this community, he will be sorely missed. We at NMJournal.com wish him the very best on his new endeavor and hope that he looks back on his time at ENMR-Plateau with fond memories.

Thank you, Tom Phelps, for your integrity and your honesty. And thank you for being a source of reason through some challenging times.
