LOOKING FOR THE PERFECT WORD?
by Paul and Kerri Elders
Have you ever found yourself searching for just the right word to precisely convey your meaning, and then become frustrated when it was just on the tip of your tongue, but not quite available to your brain so that you could use it?
There's a simple internet solution to this common problem: an online dictionary and thesaurus from Merriam-Webster.
Simply by typing any word into a search box, you can find complete definitions, synonyms (words that mean the same) and antonyms (words that mean the opposite). And, unlike a printed dictionary, spelling doesn't count--if you mispell a word, the online dictionary will make suggestions for the correct spelling of the word.
You can even click a button for an online pronunciation of the word so that you can hear it, correctly pronounced, through the speakers on your own desktop computer!
