In New Mexico Election News:

Raymond Sanchez, Speaker of the House and NM legislator for 30 years was defeated by businessman John Sanchez.

Proposition 2, which would have eliminated term limits for county officials, was soundly defeated: 73 percent of voters voted against this proposed Amendment to the NM Constitution.

Jeff Bingaman, Democratic US Senator, retains his seat, defeating challenger Bill Redmond.

Bond Issue A, providing money for Senior Citizen Facility improvements, passed.
